Salman Khan is reportedly set to collaborate with director Apoorva Lakhia for a new film based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash, which is one of the most intense military confrontations between India and China in recent times.
According to sources cited by Pinkvilla, the actor is expected to portray an Indian Army officer in the upcoming project, marking his first full-fledged role in the uniform. The film is said to be inspired by India’s Most Fearless 3, a book chronicling real-life acts of bravery by Indian soldiers.
While the project is yet to be officially confirmed, Lakhia, known for films like Shootout at Lokhandwala and Haseena Parkar, told Bombay Times, “Nothing is confirmed as yet,” when asked about the film.
Production is tentatively scheduled to begin in July, with a 70-day shoot planned across Ladakh and Mumbai. The film is expected to feature three younger-generation actors alongside Khan, and will combine on-location shoots in Ladakh with studio recreations in Mumbai. A detailed recce in Ladakh is reportedly underway.
As per reports Khan is excited about the project and sees strong cinematic potential in the story. He is said to have great faith in Lakhia’s vision to deliver a respectful and compelling retelling of the real-life military episode. If the development gets confirmed, the film will mark a new chapter in Khan’s career, adding a patriotic army drama to his filmography. Back in 2004, Salman donned a khakhi vardi as a police officer in Puneet Issar’s Garv: Pride & Honour.
