Botswana trumps other popular countries for safaris in Africa, they say, and they are not alone in that opinion. Many avid travelers have shared similar opinions on socila media sites like and . But what is it that makes Botswana the very best country in Africa for safari holidays?
According to , Botswana has an "aggressively forward-thinking approach to wildlife conservation". Additionally, they say that the African country, which borders Namibia, Zimbabwe and South Africa, also has a "unique array of national parks" and its game reserves "make it a haven for nature lovers".
"The country's anti-poaching methods are among the strictest in all of Africa," the experts said. "Botswana banned commercial hunting entirely in 2014, and environmental minister Tshekedi Khama launched an unofficial shoot-to-kill policy for poachers."

Other popular spots to see majestic wildlife in Botswana include Nxai Pans National Park, Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park and Moremi Game Reserve.
Taking second place on Exodus Travels' list of the best countries in Africa for safari trips is , followed by , Namibia, Rwanda, , Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The most popular route between the UK and Botswana, according to Booking.com, is from Heathrow Airport in London to Sir Seretse Khama International Airport in Gaborone. It takes over 16 hours and costs £1,328 for a round-trip, so it is definitely on the more expensive end of the scale.
Meanwhile, the average price for a pint of beer in Botswana, according to cost of living site , is just £1.44.
