Squid Game enthusiasts have been given an extraordinary opportunity to bring back one eliminated contestant - though time is of the essence.
Inspired by the hit Korean thriller series Squid Game, the Netflix reality competition features 456 contestants battling through a succession of gruelling tasks.
Whilst participants won't suffer deadly repercussions like in the original drama, they'll still experience crushing disappointment when their hopes of securing $456 million are dashed.
The second series of the popular Netflix programme made its return to the platform this month, arriving in three instalments.
The second instalment dropped today (November 11), though viewers must exercise patience until next week for the thrilling season conclusion, reports the Mirror.
The current series has delivered exceptional entertainment thus far, with ambitious contestants locked in fierce competition for a fortune that could transform their lives. Reports previously indicated that recruitment for series three has commenced with applications now being accepted.
Netflix subscribers now have the power to grant one series two participant another opportunity in the forthcoming season.
Only contestants eliminated from the present series are eligible for consideration to re-enter the competition, as recruitment for series three continues. Supporters simply need to visit online platforms and submit their preferred candidate's name.
Subsequently, the five contestants garnering the highest number of endorsements will battle for the ultimate decision, commencing on November 18. Netflix Tudum reveals: "But in the end, only one will earn a guaranteed spot in Season 3 and the chance to take home the $4.56 million prize."
All fans need to do is head over to the Tudum.com website and cast their vote.
Social media has been buzzing with fans sharing their thoughts on who they'd like to see return. One fan took to Reddit, stating: "I'd give the people killed from the first game a real shot at playing.
"They all got screwed, especially the nurse for stepping up. They gave the twin who was the official captain a second shot for his "bravery" to step up but she did too and didn't get a second chance."
Another commented: "I picked 415 personally. I respect someone who'll do whatever it takes to survive."
However, not everyone is thrilled with the new series, as some fans have voiced their concerns after hundreds of players were eliminated within the first episode.
One disgruntled viewer said: "Don't see the point in flying 456 people to London to axe half of them in a challenge that may involve 2-3 people max."
Another added: "First one was literally... counting seconds and elimination of 200+ players over that thing."
Despite this, others praised the show, calling it "fantastic".
