Meghan Markle has revealed that she likes to greet guests into her home in a very bizarre way. The 44-year-old resides at a multi-million-dollar mansion in Montecito with Prince Harry and their two children.
Speaking at a book event in California, Meghan explained that she welcomes visitors to her home without shoes helps "demystify" her. As well as having no shoes on, Meghan - who is known for her love of cooking - also wears an apron during the greeting.
Speaking to her close friend Courtney Adamo at Godmothers bookstore in Summerland, Meghan said: "It demystifies things. People walk in and think, 'Oh, she's in this with me.'"
"And what are they drawn to? The kitchen. They come right in, and suddenly everyone's a little more relaxed."
The main purpose of the chat was to discuss Courtney's new family-focused interior design book, The Family Home: Inspiring Ideas For A Home Filled With Joy.
Meghan also revealed discussed her "incredible" daughter, four-year-old Princess Lilibet.
Speaking of Lilibet, Meghan said: "Our daughter, she's four and she's a very strong personality and she's incredible. And now she's in this moment where I say, 'What's your rose and your thorn?' And she goes, 'My day was just a blast.'"
Also speaking of her parenting, Meghan revealed that she and Prince Harry also have one very particular ritual that they follow when either of their children is unwell.
As well as their daughter, Meghan also shares six-year-old Prince Archie with Harry.
Meghan discussed that the family have a "healing blanket" for their children to use for comfort during illness, with the blanket being a gift from Victoria Jackson, a former QVC cosmetics mogul and co-owner of the bookstore.
