An audience member on Question Time this evening tore lumps out of Cabinet minister Lisa Nandy over migrant hotels, accusing her of labelling those with concerns as 'far right'. Opening the show, Fiona Bruce turned to the recent news that the government wants to move illegal migrants out of hotels and into military sites, asking Ms Nandy whether it's the right policy.
The Culture Secretary said migrant hotels have been a "disaster" for the local community, partly due to "far right racists outside protesting". Latching onto this comment, one audience member slammed the top Labour politician's comments.
He blasted: "By 'far right' do you mean the general public? That's my main concern, because you are labelling ordinary old ladies, old gentlemen, everybody as far right. It's trying to villainise people who are quite frankly terrified.

"You've got hotels, all you can eat buffets... we've welcomed everybody into this country and it's made Britain great.
"But you are villainising by saying we are far right.
"Coming from Labour - I grew up very much Labour and I'm struggling to support Labour any more."
Ms Nandy hit back by insisting when she said "far right" she was talking about protesters who travelled to her constituency in Wigan with "swastika banners and stood outside the hotels".
Reform activist and GB News host Matthew Goodwin won enthusiastic applause from the audience when calling out the complete failure of Labour to grapple with the issue and take back control of Britain's borders.
Mr Goodwin fumed: "Everybody is looking at the absolute shambles at the borders, everybody is paying £15 billion to accommodate people who are often breaking our laws.
"These islands are know for having a sense of fairness. We created the idea of fair play, that is not what is happening in this country. We have had governments - both Tory and Labour - that are incentivising people to break our laws, enter our country illegally, and to be frank putting women, children, our people at risk."
