New flights will leave from London Luton Airport to , the capital city of Portugal's archipelago. Take-offs can be expected every Monday and Friday throughout summer 2025 in line with new holiday package deals. Ali Gayward, 's UK country manager, said: "We are really pleased to be celebrating the launch of another new route from this summer."
Gayward added that "Funchal is a fantastic addition" - no doubt because of its subtropical climate, rugged volcanic landscapes, lush forest, and hiking trails. The island is also famous for its Madeira wine with local vineyards offering tours around their grounds.

Lonely Planet pointed out popular actives in Funchal, which includes whale and dolphin watching and volcanic pools.
Top attractions, according to Trip Advisor, include Monte Palace Madeira - tranquil gardens with wildlife, live music and an art exhibition - and Pico do Arierio (a high-altitude hiking trail).
Visitors can take in splendid views of nature and the city while taking a seat on cable cards.
Additional noteworthy attractions include the 3D Fun Art Museum and the vibrant street food market Mercado dos Lavradores.

Climate in Funchal in October, Novemnber and DecemberBecause of its subtropical climate, October typically has highs of 25C and lows of 20C.
In November, visitors can expect the temperature gauge to dip between 23C to 17C; in December, the climate is between 21C to 16C, which still makes a fairly warm winter.
