Katie Price has recently topped the iTunes chart and landed a spot in the Big Top 40—but how? The former Page 3 model has spoken openly in the past about her wishes to be a pop star, and she's having a huge resurgence in popularity following a huge social media campaign.
The 47-year-old has found herself beating off the likes of Chappell Roan, Lewis Capaldi and Benson Boone with her track I Got U, eight years after the dance-pop song was released. Written by former X Factor contestant Craig Colton, the song was Katie's attempt to launch herself as a singer again, having previously attempted to represent the United Kingdom during the Eurovision Song Contest.
During an appearance on Loose Women ahead of its release, Katie revealed that her management team had wanted nothing to do with it and instead told her it wouldn't be a success. But eight years later, how has she found herself in the running for a Number One track?

Last month, Katie's first husband, Peter Andre, issued a blistering statement against the star and hit out at Katie's "repeated lies" following Katie's claims that she hadn't been invited to their daughter, Princess's 18th birthday as it was being filmed and she didn't fit the brand.
Then, Alex Reid, Katie's second husband, whom she married in 2010 and divorced just one year later, shared a bombshell video. The clip, believed to have been filmed in late 2020, showed a then-bankrupt Price, counting huge stacks of cash, while boasting that her bankruptcy had been extended.
In the clip, she claimed Reid had been demanding more money before branding Peter's second wife, Dr Emily, and their children "irrelevant". Since the statement from Peter and Alex's video, Katie's die-hard fans have been rallying around her to show their support – which has driven her to the charts.
Fans have been downloading and streaming I Got U on all major platforms, as well as sharing the song on apps such as TikTok and Instagram, boosting its popularity, with it also going viral. "EVERYONE GO BUY IT! Also use the song in your posts on TikTok and show love to others who have too! Let's do this," said one fan.
A second penned: "It's women supporting women." Another typed: "We stand with Katie Price." Meanwhile, a fourth noted another song by Katie which is currently storming up the charts, writing: "We need to get Hurricane up there now, come on let's not stop here."

Some, however, have claimed that Peter Andre has recently released a single which is being overshadowed by Katie's chart success. But Peter's last single, Christmas Time's For Family, was released in 2014 and failed to chart. His last Top 10 hit was his 2009 song, Behind Closed Doors, which peaked at Number 4.
Katie and Peter's children, Junior and Princess, have also been vocal about their support as she dominates the charts, taking to Instagram to congratulate the television personality. After Capital FM presenter Will Manning revealed that Katie was sitting at Number 3 on the Big Top 40, she said: "How has this happened? Number 3 in the charts! Official charts! Thank you every one, I'm so humbled, thank you!"
Will explained that the download charts had "gone mad" for the iconic dance track. Celebrating, Katie's sister Sophia said: "OMG!!! Number 3!! You go girl!!!" She later added: "Can you believe she got to Number 3?! We're all like, just can't believe it, so amazing, so proud of her!"
