British Superbike ace Callum Grigor has been put into an induced coma following a terrifying crash at Donington Park. The 27 year old, from Wishaw, Scotland, is in a "serious" condition.
It comes following an incident during the Pirelli National Superstock Championship race on Saturday. He was thrown off his bike while approaching Goddards Corner. The Scottish rider and his bike then collided with Manx star Nathan Harrison. He received immediate medical attention on the track, before being placed into a medically induced coma and rushed to hospital.
A statement from British Superbike read: "In the Pirelli National Superstock Championship race at Donington Park circuit today Callum Grigor crashed on the opening lap of the race on the approach to Goddards Corner.

"He and his machine then collided with Nathan Harrison who also fell. The race was immediately red flagged and both riders were attended to by the BSB Medical Team. Callum Grigor was found to be in a serious condition and required immediate trackside intervention, including being placed into an induced coma.
"Nathan Harrison was treated at the medical centre for an isolated limb injury. Both riders were transferred to the local major trauma centre, Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, for onward assessment and care. Further information will be provided when available."
Harrison was treated at the Leicestershire circuit’s medical centre for what organisers describe as ‘an isolated limb injury’ before being transferred to Queen's Medical Centre.
Messages of support have been shared on social media since the crash. One fan wrote: "That didn't look good. Thoughts are with Nathan Harrison and Callum Grigor."
